Vacation:
I could not decided between the weekends we spent at my cabin (specially during the fall) or our summer trip to yellowstone. We were really lucky to spend many weekends at the cabin this year, with great food, family and friends. We also had a blast staying at a cabin in Island park idaho.

Who introduced me: Thanks grandpa for buying the cabin and keeping it in the family. Yellowstone has been a long time dream for me to visit and thanks to emma for putting it together.

Restaurant:
By far the best restaurant this year was The Copper Onion. We went for Emma's birthday for the first time, and went back every other chance we could from then on. I enjoyed the copper onion burger, lamb, steak, and the pork roast. They have a roasted cauliflower, potato, creamy dressing that is to die for! Some of our favorite additions is their brie cheese with honey and wafers, as well as their custard pie and vanilla cheesecake.

Who introduced me: Emma had pointed out this restaurant multiple times when we would visit the broadway theater right next door.

Clothing:
I have always been a big fan of anything Obey, this year their style was by far my favorite. Shepard Fairey is one of my favorite artist, so you know his clothing line is sick.

Who introduced me: Your welcome Isaac.

Movies:
My favorite comedy of this year was a british indie film called Four Lions. It captures my exact style of humor. That is saying a lot, because lets be honest I have the best sense of humor. My 2nd favorite film is The Social Network. This movie is about much more then then the website facebook, it does an amazing job of showing how all of their relationships intertwined and clashed.

Who introduced me: I found out about Four lions from Conan O'brien when he said he was one of his favorite comedies of the year and The Social Network was a very popular film this year.

Website:
My favorite website this year would have to be Mashable.com. This website has proved daily to be a huge help to me in my career, and my desire to learn about new technologies and what was new on the web.

Who introduced me: The internet.

Music:
My favorite album this year by far was the The Social Network soundtrack. The best tracks were 1. One we march 2. In Motion 3. Intriguing possibilities. I love playing this album while I am working or studying. I also can't go this year without talking about DUBSTEP. I started getting really into Dubstep in 2010 and this year is completely blew up. My favorite dubstep artist is Rusko, and his best songs were 1.Scareware 2. I can go thug 3. Woo boost.

Who introduced me: I have always been a huge fan of Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails, so when I heard he was doing this soundtrack I knew it was going to be amazing. I found Rusko first by listening to a zeitgeist video review of 2009.

Favorite TV show:

I am amazed at the crap that is put on tv these days. This was the year of jersey shore, two & a half men, and more bachelors than I can count. They keep crapping out horrible shows, but fortunately there was two worth mentioning. First Parks & Recreation has only got better and better. Ron Swanson is possibly my favorite character on tv to date (see the swanson pyramid of greatness). Second is Arrested development. I know this is a older show but I watched all three season on netflix and am a die hard fan now. The show has a dream team of comedians before they were popular.

Who introduced me: Parks & Recreation is Emma's favorite show and made sure we never missed a single episode. She also purchased the dvd of arrested development before I even started watching them on nextflix for a christmas gift.

Concert:

This year we saw Death cab for cutie, Joshua james, Kid cudi, The cool kids, Joshua Radin, and Mindy Gledhill, but my favorite by far was Macklemore! He has become one of my favorite hip hop artist. He is a seattle local, raps about funny shit, and his producer Ryan Lewis makes the best beats in the industry. His top three songs are 1. Irish celebration 2. Otherside 3. Make the money, just to name a few.

Who introduced me: I found Macklemore through his song Stay at home dad. If you havent heard it go listen to it now.

Book:
Everybook I purchased this year I heard about from NPR. The internet is a playground is one of the funniest books I have ever read. Emma heard me talk about it and purchased it for me for my 25th birthday, and it proved to be one of the highlights of my birthday.

Who introduced me: All good things start with NPR.

All in all 2011 was a great year. These are just a few of my favorite things.

An anonymous career banker inside Goldman Sachs opened a twitter account (@GSElevator) with the intention of revealing the hilarious banter that takes place in the privacy of the GS elevators. Since then, the account has evolved to include things overheard on trading floors, bullpens, lobbies and bars. Meanwhile, the cost of college keeps rising -- 20 times the rate of inflation and much faster than say healthcare costs -- and student loan debt keeps growing. As of mid-2010, U.S. student loan debt totaled $850 billion vs. $828 billion for credit card debt, according to the Federal Reserve.

So with more people coming around to the idea that maybe Altucher is onto something (vs. being on something), the money manager and author is back with a follow-up: The 8 Alternatives to College:

So I've learned how to think and engage in repartee with other intelligent people."
